About Plant Harmony Health Center

Plant Harmony Health Center is devoted to integrating recent scientific findings with already proven health facts. We were founded in 2014 by Charles "PlantHero" McCoy, Certified Herbal Nutritionist, Horticulturalist, and Accomplished Floral Designer.

Charles A. McCoy, CNH, PBNutrition, affectionately known as Plant-Hero, became a passionate advocate of the miracles associated with a plant-based diet following the established effects a plant-based diet had on his prostate cancer, eight years ago and shingles four years ago. The experience provided him with firsthand positive, healthful benefits and he immediately began the journey of sharing the life saving knowledge of a plant-based diet via presentations entitled 'Farmacy'.

'Farmacy' presentations are presented in a fun way as they include principles of plant nutrition in health and disease and planning for a plant-based diet appropriate for physical and nutritional needs. Charles lectures extensively on nutrition as well as indoor plants (herb gardening), plants for indoor air-purifying throughout the tri-state area; his audiences have been adults, children and athletes with various nutritional and health concerns.

Some of the 'Farmacy' presentations are:

  • detox & Cleanse;

  • probotics & prebotics

  • alternative sweeteners;

  • oils & fats

  • know your salts;

  • smoothies vs soups;

  • cooked food vs raw food;

  • benefits of watermelon;

  • cooking demo;

  • destroying diabetes

All 'Farmacy' presentations include give-a-ways of the 'show-off' fruit or vegetable, as well as free samples of 'show-off' food as a refreshment or in a *fresh cooked sample.

Charles as Plant-Hero has been the spokesman for Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems and was the editor of the popular e-zine Water Warriors; and still lectures regularly on the ways to consume and save water. He volunteers as a Veggie Educator with United Way and NYC Food Bank, and has worked as a Horticultural Therapist for WellCare; however, his work United Health Care as an Green Event Specialist provided an opportunity for Charles to bring whole food, plant-based nutrition to the forefront of his efforts to improve the current health crisis in communities and is the co-owner of 'Blendsville' a superfoods cafe in Brooklyn.

As 'PlantHero The Eco-tainer' he has delighted passengers on the luxury cruise lines 'Events & Seminars at Sea' speaking on plant-based nutrition. He is published in magazines, blogs, and newsletters. He was the special consultant of 'Snack Smart' written by Marissa Lippert, RD, for Woman's Day magazine. He consults numerous businesses on plant-based dieting, and author of the soon to be released book 'Eat Healthy With Less Money'.

Charles has an Associates Degree in Horticulture from Ulster College and received his Nutritional Herbologist Certificate from The College of Herbal Medicine in 2010 and became a Certified Nutritional Herbologist (CNH) in 2013; he is a member of the 'Pampered Chef' association as a consultant and crew member at Trader Joe's; he has a licence to handle food and is fully insured with liability insurance via 'Plant Harmony Health Center' where he is the CEO & Founder.

Plant Harmony Health Center is devoted to integrating recent scientific findings with already proven health facts. We were founded in 2014 by Charles "PlantHero" McCoy, Certified Herbal Nutritionist, Horticulturalist, and Accomplished Floral Designer. Our founder is a passionate advocate of the miracles associated with a plant-based diet following the effects it had on his prostate cancer and then on his shingles. He often says, "If the experience gained could be turned into a patented drug, it would be worth billions of dollars to whoever owned it!" In any case, his experiences enlightened him firsthand about the positive, healthful benefits of plant-based nutrition. We now work to disseminate his knowledge of plant-based nutrition at senior centers, community outreach, health fairs, and by appointment at our health center in midtown Manhattan.

*Foods are cooked during presentation, audience members are chosen at random to be the 'guest chefs'; the cooked food is given to audience members chosen from raffle tickets given out during the cooking sequence; recipes of refreshments or food samples are made available at the conclusion of presentation.

Recently, he has been conducting 'Farmacy' presentations in the tri-state area as Plant-Hero and as a future member of **HONcode (the standard for trustworthy health information by a non-professional), makes it clear that the material discussed or provided during his presentation is provided for educational purposes only, and is not to be used for medical advise, diagnosis or treatment.
